Update on Jerry DeLemus

NH Rep Sue DeLemus has made a statement about her husband Jerry, who is sitting in prison in Henderson, Nevada.

Jerry thanks everyone for your continued support and Sue thanks you for all the help you have given to her here at home.

If you would like to send Jerry a letter his address is:

City of Henderson
Detention Center
Gerald DeLemus
P.O. Box 95050
Henderson, NV 89009-5050

Sue tells us that Jerry is currently being held in the City of Henderson, Nevada which is minutes outside of Las Vegas. On his arrival in NV he was left in a holding cell for 10 hours where it was so cold that he had to pull his arms and head inside his tee-shirt for warmth. By the time they came to check on him he was shivering violently (the bodies defense when going into hypothermia). At that point they sent in medical personnel to examine him and found his blood pressure at dangerous levels so they administered blood pressure medication. After that he was moved to a unit where he was in isolation.

He is still in isolation spending 23 hours a day in his cell and sometimes the guards “forget” him and miss letting him out until late at night, like 11:00 PM which is 2:00 AM here in NH. When that happens he and Sue don’t get to talk on the phone. There are a few good guards but the treatment is pretty bad, Sue reports.

Jerry still suffers hip pain from his accident, and Sue is worried that he must take high blood pressure medication since he has never had a problem with it in the past.

He is being denied basic needs such as a decent blanket and pillow. If not for Sue, would not have shoes and a tee-shirt. Sue says the guards at Strafford County Corrections Facility in Dover, NH were so nice and compassionate during the time Jerry spent there, that they make these other facilities look like Japanese prison camps.

Sue remarked that Jerry and the rest of the Political Prisoner Patriots are supposed to be “innocent until proven guilty” but they are truly being treated as “guilty until proven innocent”.

To that end, we have asked that our community contact Henderson, Nevada’s Mayor and Town Council and tell them you want the starving and torture of Jerry and ALL political prisoners stopped.

The phone number for the Office of the Mayor and City Council is (702) 267-2085.

Remember, Jerry was not even in Nevada the day of the so-called “standoff”, never threatened anyone, and is NOT NOW nor has he EVER been a “danger to the community” as Asst US Attorney Zuckerman declared.
