Beware of Groups Soliciting Money in Election Years

REMINDER FOR AN ELECTION YEAR

We regret to inform you that we are once again getting reports about various PACs and other nefarious partisan groups from out of state, particularly DC and NY, who are using the ‘teaparty’ name, soliciting funds from OUR members, either to benefit themselves, or for supposed disbursement to an ‘endorsed’ candidate. These groups are never anywhere to be found at any other time it seems, except during election seasons.

Please remember that we at NHTPC are an independent STATE group that has NO affiliation to groups like TPP, TPN, TPE, TeaPartyActionNetwork, teaparty.net teaparty.org or any other group whose internet domain contains the word ‘teaparty’. Our work is based on networking, education, and activism. While we do alert you to national issues, most of our work is local and state.

The legitimate tea party, a non-partisan movement formed in 2007, does not collect money, nor does it endorse candidates or donate to any candidates. It never has and never will. What you are seeing are fundraising ploys using the tea party name, period.

You are also likely to see one or more of these groups canvassing NH for the upcoming general election, promoting a candidate as you saw in 2012. Please be advised these groups come from OUT OF STATE and have nothing to do with our wonderful ORIGINAL band of activists who are not necessarily on board with their ‘endorsements’. (In the past, they have been here promoting some very UNteaparty-like candidates such as Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, and Scott Brown).

If you wish to donate to a candidate, please do it directly to his or her campaign. We have proven in the past that much of the money collected by the above mentioned PACs never actually gets to where they say it is going. Instead, the money lines the pockets of the paid consultants and lawyers who head up these organizations in the form of huge salaries, as well as going toward paying the large fees required to maintain their offices.

Remember, our work is local, we have NO office in DC, and no fundraising machine.

We are grateful for our activists who VOLUNTEER for all they do.

Please send any future reports to webmaster@nhteapartycoalition.org as a reply to the newsletter.
