What Will NH’s Sheriff’s Do?

In preparation for the gun rights rally planned for the statehouse on January 31, 2013 at noon, the NH Tea Party Coalition has sent letters to each of the 10 of New Hampshire’s county sheriffs.

Along with a request to make a statement about what they plan to do in light of unconstitutional violations of the second amendment to the United States Constitution that may come through legislation or executive orders, we have invited each to speak at the rally.

We will post the results here as they arrive in our mailbox.

We have been advised, although not confirmed, that Merrimack County Sheriff Scott E. Hilliard will NOT make a public statement. However we have not yet received an official notice from his office to let us know of this position.

To be silent is to be complicit especially in light of the claim that Obama is using a new litmus test for the military about whether they will fire on US citizens if instructed to do so.

This article is very disturbing and we hope what this man is claiming on his FaceBook page is not true. But if it is, that is even more reason for our NH sheriffs to take a stand.

If you are a sheriff in NH, we hope to hear from you soon. And we hope you will take a stand as scores of other sheriffs across the nation have already done.

Update: We have been informed that the NH sheriffs are working on presenting a group statement. Let’s hope that any statement they make will not only be favorable to the citizens and their constitutional rights but an assurance that they will not participate in any confiscation schemes or willingness to fire on citizens.
