Open Letter to Senator McConnell and Others in Congress

Dear Senator McConnell:

Republicans were given a second chance in November; not because they have been the party of Fiscal Restraint or Integrity…only because the Democratic socialists are far worse. That said, it is vitally important that the Republicans stand united, STOP reaching across the aisle, stop compromising, and come out with a strong message and a viable plan to put our Country back on track. Republicans have frustrated their base due to a hard shift to the left, which made them nothing more than “democrat light”. We cannot negotiate with socialists any more than we can with terrorists. The “Democrats” do not play “nice”; to them the end justifies the means, as witnessed during this most egregious lame-duck session. They are well versed in treachery. We need to fight back and fight smart, but hard.

The Progressives have this game down pat, and are much better at it than the GOP. They know how to “spin” everything they do. How to make it look like they just want to be kind “parents”, and those obstructionist Republicans want to “kill Grandma”, and hope poor people starve to death. However, TRUTH is on our side if we just use it correctly, making good use of facts, and make the message compelling. When they attack, we need to be prepared and attack back…with truth and facts! The “Undocumented Worker” in the WH, reached across the aisle out of “need”, not respect… let Republicans not have a “Chris Matthews” moment! The enemy resides in DC, they are within the gates…please do not get out your golf clubs, he hates America, and therefore he hates each of you!

We have major work to do, and do not need “turn-coat” quasi-republicans ruining the rebuilding of our Nation. Murkowski, Olympia Snowe just to name two… just what makes them Republicans? The toxic twins from Maine vote more often with “progressives” than with their supposed party. They obviously did not get the message in November…or they are covert “dems”.

If Republicans wish to win in 2012, and maintain a majority, they must come forward with a plan to reduce the size and scope of the Federal Government and reduce spending, not just provide bromides. The only way to change results is to change the process. End useless and redundant programs, based on BRAC: it has already been laid out which programs are inefficient and costly, act on this. Set a “ten Year plan”: being that the optimal size of government is around 20% of GNP, work to attain that…outline the road map to meet that goal. Defund and dismantle the Dept. of Education, eliminate funding to the National Endowment for the Arts, implement a Flat Tax (No VAT!) and eliminate the IRS, just to name a few!

Following the Chilean model, reform Social Security. De-fund ObamaCare until it can be repealed; start over with a system based on free market principles. Responsibility needs to be returned to the States, no mandates should be forced on the States. Reenact welfare reform, entitlements need to be reeled in and wealth redistribution must be stopped. A balanced budget amendment needs to be passed, and each Bill must stand alone…not be lined with hidden demons and pork. The Obama Care bill is a perfect example of what to do: behind closed doors the socialists crafted a Bill which will wreak financial havoc if totally repealed. We need to de-fund and dismantle, but learn from this.

We have the FCC, and the EPA taking expansive authority: we can 1.) Withhold funding and, 2.) Congressional Review Act; review and overrule. In regards to “DADT”, Congress under Article 1, Section 8 has the Constitutional Authority to establish rules for the Military, use it, demand factual proof of the impact on our Military…it is not a Constitutional right to serve.

Yes, republicans have a hard job ahead…many of these issues they helped bring about. It is up to this Congress to stand up and do battle for America. Jim DeMint has fought a tough battle, it is time that fellow Republicans gave him the support they should have a long time ago. I ask for the future of America and our Republic…do not back down: at this point the socialists/cultural Marxists are winning, to paraphrase Winston Churchill, “if you do not fight now while you have a chance of winning… you may have to fight when we have zero chance of winning, as death is preferable to servitude”.

Sincerely,
Susan Carroll
