NH Debunks Obama Job Creation Numbers

NH STIMULUS OFFICE REPORT DEBUNKS OBAMA’S BOGUS JOBS ESTIMATE

NH Stimulus Office Says 2,223 Jobs Created, White House Claims 12,000, Obama Had Promised 16,000

CONCORD – A new report released today by the NH Office of Economic Stimulus shows that President Obama’s failed ‘stimulus’ has created only 2,223 jobs in the Granite State – well short of the White House’s April estimate of 12,000 jobs. Congressman Paul Hodes, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter, Senator Jeanne Shaheen and President Obama had initially promised that the $787 billion ‘stimulus’ boondoggle would create 16,000 jobs in New Hampshire.

“This report confirms that the ‘stimulus’ has failed, and the Obama Administration is misleading the public with phony jobs estimates,” said NH GOP Communications Director Ryan Williams. “Paul Hodes, Carol Shea-Porter and Jeanne Shaheen need to immediately reject the Obama Administration’s bogus estimates and call for a full review of stimulus spending. Granite State taxpayers need to know how the federal government is actually spending $787 billion of their hard earned money.”

According to the New Hampshire Stimulus Office, the ‘stimulus’ has created only 2,223 jobs as of March 31, 2010. A press release sent out by the White House on April 16, 2010 claimed that 12,000 jobs had been created in the Granite State during the same period (Nashua Telegraph, 4/17/10). In a statement released by the Obama Administration, Vice President Joe Biden personally touted the fraudulent New Hampshire jobs estimate.
