NH Democrat Discredits Constitution Uses Sexual Term to Describe GOPers

Is there no end to the bumbling ignorance of our District 1 Representative Carol Shea-Porter?

As described in this account by One News Now, Representative Carol Shea-Porter (D-New Hampshire) was asked recently by a talk-radio caller about the constitutionality of the Democrats’ government-run healthcare plan. Her response has at least one constitutional expert wondering whether she has ever read the Constitution.

She also recently made a most unfortunate gaffe when she referred to people who were attending a GOP event at hotel where her staff was staying as ‘teabaggers’, apparently totally unaware of the sexual connotation and derisive nature of the term.

According to Fosters “the encounter happened after bumping into former Attorney General Kelly Ayotte, who’s exploring a run for Senate and was addressing the city’s Republican Committee at the Portsmouth Sheraton. But Shea-Porter, a two-term Democratic representative from Rochester, said Ayotte ‘was speaking to the tea-baggers’ — a reference to the activists who started making waves earlier this year following a ‘tea party’ protest against outsized government spending.”

Later at a closed event with government healthcare proponents, she stated, “Find those tea-baggers who don’t like the idea of this and talk to them. You won’t get all of them, but I think when they realize we’re still going to be an employer-based insurance system in this country, and that it is a choice — one choice among many choices — it takes away that sense of fear, that sense that they’re losing control over their lives. They’re not. What’s happening is we’re giving some people who haven’t had any choice, a choice.”

We can’t say we are surprised about either her ignorance of what the healthcare bill would really do, or who’s who and what they should properly be called — tea partiers. Shea-Porter had already shown herself to be totally insulated from the activities and sentiments of her constituents when last April, protesters sent tea bags to her office as a symbol of their discontent with her positions. Her reaction?

She called hazmat!

Another thing Carol doesn’t seem to realize is that a purely socialized medical system is never done in a free society, and in fact, is the mark of a totalitarian, managed society.
