Van Jones visit not such a flop for one seacoast tea partier
A copy of Glenn Beck’s book “Arguing With Idiots” that was autographed by self-described communist Van Jones in NH last week will be auctioned off to benefit a conservative cause.
Previously, we reported on Jones’ visit to Phillips Exeter, a very old and exclusive prep school in New Hampshire. One of our organizers, Sue Polidura of the Seacoast Freedom Network, attended the speech. She later called Glenn Beck’s radio show on February 24th to tell him the story of how a NH tea partier sat in the front row and held up a copy of Beck’s book “Arguing With Idiots” where Jones could see it, and eventually had Jones sign it.
Hear Sue tell Beck her story…
Later, Joe sent us these photos…
This morning, Joe called Beck’s radio show and Beck convinced him to sell the book and made plans to auction it off online to benefit a conservative cause that he will be promoting in the future. He noted however, that Jones related a very different story to Suzanne Malveaux of CNN, where Jones seemed to be claiming that he had made a ‘convert’ out of the man with the book. Here is the relevant transcript of the first part of the video that is below…
VAN JONES, FORMER WHITE HOUSE ADVISER: I gave a speech at ah, Exeter, and some of the tea party people came to my speech.
SUZANNE MALVEAUX, CNN WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT: You’re kidding.
JONES: Yuh. And, you know, the guy’s sittin’ on the front row, and he had Glenn Beck’s book right there — on the front row, like you know maddoggin’ me.
MALVEAUX: Really?
JONES: — and I started talking. I started talking about American jobs and the future and how we can be one country, and the guy’s book starts getting lower and lower and lower, and at the end of the speech, he came up and asked me to sign Glenn Beck’s book.
MALVEAUX: You are kidding.
JONES: I swear to God. And you know what I wrote on it?
MALVEAUX: What did you — what did you write?
JONES: We are one country, Van Jones.

Now hear Joe’s story as he tells Beck what really happened. Joe also stated that he was against Jones’ philosophy before the speech and was just as against it afterward and that Jones actually approached him…
