Consider the double standard here; one silly word can cause you the loss of your right of the freedom of speech – but not if you are protected by ‘progressives’. Congressmen Hodes, Porter, and Senator Shaheen, and NH DP CHAIRMAN RAY BUCKLEY — do you condone this kind of speech?
Dem Senate Leader Must Resign Leadership Post After Making Racially Insensitive Remarks
CONCORD – The New Hampshire Republican State Committee today called on Congressman Paul Hodes and Senator Jeanne Shaheen to demand Senator Harry Reid’s (D-NV) resignation as Senate Majority Leader after he made racially insensitive comments about President Barak Obama. CNN (1/9) reports that Senator Reid belittled the President by referring to him as a “light-skinned” black candidate who speaks “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”
“Paul Hodes has relied on Harry Reid to raise tens of thousands of dollars for his struggling senate campaign. Now it’s time for Congressman Hodes to reject Senator Reid’s embarrassing and disgraceful comments by demanding that he step down from his leadership post,” said NHGOP Communications Director Ryan Williams. “Jeanne Shaheen has blindly followed Harry Reid’s orders since her election to the Senate. She must also personally reject Reid’s offensive and degrading remarks by calling for him to resign as her majority leader.”
Senator Reid donated $10,000 to Congressman Paul Hodes’ Senate campaign in 2009 and $10,000 to Jeanne Shaheen’s campaign in 2008 through his leadership Political Action Committee (PAC). (OpenSecrets.org).
In addition to his PAC donation, Senator Reid also hosted a fundraiser with Washington lobbyists to benefit the Hodes campaign. Ticket prices at the exclusive Beltway reception ranged from $1,000 to $5,000 per person (Concord Monitor, 9/13).
