In a revealing article by Claire Berlinski, we read about the ‘disappeared’ history that we are just now hearing so much about.<\/p>\n

In “A Hidden History of Evil<\/a>” the author asks, “Why doesn\u2019t anyone care about the unread Soviet archives?” And, “Though Mikhail Gorbachev is lionized in the West, the untranslated archives suggest a much darker figure.”<\/em><\/p>\n

“In the world\u2019s collective consciousness, the word \u201cNazi\u201d is synonymous with evil. It is widely understood that the Nazis\u2019 ideology\u2014nationalism, anti-Semitism, the autarkic ethnic state, the F\u00fchrer principle\u2014led directly to the furnaces of Auschwitz. It is not nearly as well understood that Communism led just as inexorably, everywhere on the globe where it was applied, to starvation, torture, and slave-labor camps. Nor is it widely acknowledged that Communism was responsible for the deaths of some 150 million human beings during the twentieth century. The world remains inexplicably indifferent and uncurious about the deadliest ideology in history.”<\/em><\/p>\n
