Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) has signed a letter urging leadership to pass a public option via reconciliation, the 18th senator to do so.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com\/2010\/02\/shaheen-signs-public-option-letter-becomes-no-18.php\">Read More&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhteapartycoalition.org\/tea\/government-contacts\/\">Contact Shaheen and tell her to STOP ignoring the majority of the public who do NOT want Obamacare, let alone the PUBLIC OPTION!!!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are more details courtesy of the NH State GOP:<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nSHAHEEN THUMBS HER NOSE AT NH, BACKS RECONCILIATION FOR OBAMACARE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Despite Overwhelming Opposition From Her Constituents, Arrogant Senator STILL Pushing For Government Takeover of Health Care<\/em><\/p>\n<p>CONCORD \u2013 Despite overwhelming opposition from her constituents, Senator Jeanne Shaheen yesterday announced that she supports using \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reconciliation_(United_States_Congress)\">reconciliation<\/a>\u201d to ram the Democrats\u2019 government takeover of health care through the United States Senate (<a href=\"http:\/\/tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com\/2010\/02\/shaheen-signs-public-option-letter-becomes-no-18.php\">TPMDC<\/a>, 2\/18). Reconciliation is a fast-track legislative process in the Senate that would allow the Democrats to limit debate and avoid any serious effort to negotiate bipartisan health care reform.<\/p>\n<p>According to a recent poll conducted by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unh.edu\/survey-center\/news\/pdf\/gsp2010_winter_presapp20410.pdf\">University of New Hampshire<\/a> (2\/4), the Democrats\u2019 reckless health care agenda is \u201cdeeply unpopular in New Hampshire.\u201d Only 26% of Granite Staters support ObamaCare while a whopping 57% oppose it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJeanne Shaheen continues to demonstrate that she\u2019s an arrogant Washington politician who is radically out of touch with New Hampshire values,\u201d said NHGOP Communications Director Ryan Williams \u201cIf Jeanne Shaheen hasn\u2019t figured out by now that New Hampshire has rejected her disastrous government takeover of health care, she\u2019s either not listening to her constituents, or she\u2019s just clueless. Or both.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter has signed a similar letter drafted by liberal members of the House (<a href=\"http:\/\/coloradoindependent.com\/47045\/the-polis-public-option-letter-and-its-supporters\">Colorado Independent<\/a>, 2\/5) that also calls for reconciliation.
