End the DOE Instead!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They\u2019re creating a national school board. But is this legal under the Constitution? We think not.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.govtrack.us\/congress\/bills\/113\/s1094\">S.1094<\/a>, the \u201cStrengthening America\u2019s Schools Act of 2013,\u201d is a 1200 page regulatory tsunami on local school systems.<\/p>\n<p>All local control of your child\u2019s education will be lost if this bill passes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.govtrack.us\/congress\/bills\/113\/s1094\">S.1094<\/a> puts approximately 150 new reporting requirements on states relating to:<\/p>\n<p>> Teacher evaluations<br \/>\n> Learning goals<br \/>\n> Curriculum standards<br \/>\n> Standardized testing<br \/>\n> Annual reporting<\/p>\n<p>S.1094 also continues the war on local schools through FORCED implementation of Common Core Standards.<\/p>\n<p>A longstanding line of defense used by Common Core advocates is that it is voluntary for the states to participate.<\/p>\n<p>With the passage of S.1094, participation and implementation of Common Core Standards will be required of states.<\/p>\n<p>This bill puts every single major decision on American education policy in the hands of Washington DC bureaucrats in the U.S. Department of Education.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s worse is that local school systems are required to implement all of these new federal mandates and standards in a very short time frame.<\/p>\n<p>This means that teachers and local school administrators will be spending more time trying to comply with silly federal mandates and less time on actually teaching your child.<\/p>\n<p>The Education Freedom Committee opposes S.1094 because we fundamentally reject the idea that the federal government should have any role in the education of our children.<\/p>\n<p>If this bill passes, parents, teachers, and students will be sent to the sidelines.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The bill has already been rubber stamped in the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee and could be voted on in the U.S. Senate at any time.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please call your Senator right now and tell them to vote NO on S.1094.<\/p>\n<p>Call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to be directly connected with your state\u2019s U.S. Senators and tell them it&#8217;s illegal and unconstitutional for the federal government to interfere in local educational matters, period!<\/p>\n<p>H\/T: <a href=\"http:\/\/eduliberty.com\/\">Education Freedom Committee<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>They\u2019re creating a national school board.
