Groups in each state who are opposed to the amnesty bill S744 are urged to hold press conferences at their state capitols.

The bill is authored by Rep. Chuck Schumer [D-NY] and co-sponsored by:

Bennet, Michael [D-CO]
Durbin, Richard [D-IL]
Flake, Jeff [R-AZ]
Graham, Lindsey [R-SC]
McCain, John [R-AZ]
Menéndez, Robert “Bob” [D-NJ]
Rubio, Marco [R-FL]

In lieu of a press conference, NHTPC expresses its opposition to S744 with the following statement:

NHTPC advises that it is opposed to federal legislation “S. 744: Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act” for these reasons:

Amnesty is not reform.
In 1986 we gave amnesty to 3 million illegal aliens which did nothing to stop the flow of illegal aliens. We now have about 12 million.

Amnesty doesn’t secure the borders.
DHS admitted in 2011 that only 2% of our border is secure. Imagine what will happen when those expecting to take advantage of amnesty start coming across?

Amnesty for illegals undermines the rule of law.
This gives unfair advantage to those who are waiting their turn to go through the process of immigration, legally.

Amnesty will hurt workers.
Given the current job situation, flooding the country with 12 million more people seeking jobs will only exacerbate the situation.

Amnesty will strain the taxpayers.
Amnesty will cost taxpayers $6.3 trillion in the next 25-30 years and more considering the enactment and enforcement of the Affordable Care Act of 2010.

Paves the way for biometric ID cards.
“Another problem being discussed by the passage of H.R. 4321 or any similar bill is that it will open the gates so that people can move freely throughout North America with biometric RFID cards and, eventually, no checks at all, a system the European Union has already put in place for most of the union. In the near future citizens of North America can “live and work” anywhere they please. That’s why our government doesn’t want to close our border with Mexico. Your biometric RFID card will be used to verify you at border points of entry through integrated data bases. Every government will know your name, where you live and where you’re going.”

References:
Amnesty Bills: Open Borders and the free flow of Commerce and People throughout North America

Free Movement of People within North America: along with Regional and Global Governance

Universal Civil Registry: Integrating the Americas

You can read a summary of the bill here: FAIR Gang of Eight Summary 4-16-13

Instead, we support…

– Mandatory use of E-Verify by employers to ensure a legal workforce;

– Enforcement of existing immigration laws;

– Real border security with secure border fencing to prevent unlawful entry;

– Reasonable annual legal immigration levels;

– An end to birthright citizenship for children born to parents who are not citizens or Legal Permanent Residents; and

– Corrections in guest worker programs to end fraud and abuse.

Does this sound like a de facto North American Union to you?
