The most controversial element of SB 1070, Arizona’s immigration law, will not go into effect on July 29. Federal judge Susan Bolton issued a preliminary injunction against a key provision of the law, which requires law enforcement officers to check the immigration status of suspected illegal immigrants.

Which Parts of SB 1070 Were Blocked?

While SB 1070 will go into effect on July 29, the following elements of the law will not go into effect:

Requiring law enforcement officers to check a person’s immigration status while enforcing other laws.
Requiring immigrants to carry their papers at all times
Making it illegal for undocumented workers to seek employment in public places.
These elements will now be debated further, possibly up to the US Supreme Court.

ONE Campaign’s Poison Pill

Ever go on a blind date? Or maybe you’ve heard stories from your friends? Sometimes you do it as a favor, or maybe it actually sounds like you’ll have a good time. And maybe you do. Maybe you even feel pretty good afterward. But later on you discover something that makes you want to puke in your boots.

Well say hello to the ONE campaign, a media darling, politician attracting, anti-poverty organization that held a recent confab at Saint Anselm college, and whose fundamental purpose should make anyone on the political right want to puke in their boots.

How to break this gently. Remember Senator Barack Obama’s 2007 Senate Bill S 2433? That bill would require the US government to tax a percentage of total US GDP every year to fight global poverty. Obama wrote the bill to satisfy his socialist desire to redistribute America’s wealth through federal legislation, to meet the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDG). ONE campaign is part and parcel to that mission.

MDG’s objectives run contrary to most if not all conservative principles, cloaked in warm and fuzzy third world initiatives. That’s not to say that some of the objectives are morally bad, or that most of the people associated directly see the contradictions, but what people think they are doing by supporting — or being seen to support — groups like ONE, ONE Vote, and any of the other social justice organizations, is giving them credibility and expanding their reach. What they want sounds good, but how they want to do it is simply anti-American.

And ONE is just the culmination of some Social Justice Groups peddling poverty and advancing the UN’s Millennium Development program.

Is it a big deal? It is.

ONE brags about how it, in conjunctions with Global Call To Action Against Poverty (GCAP), milked a promise of $25 Billion from western countries to advance their efforts. GCAP is at the top of the list of non-UN groups pushing the MDG and proud of it. Groups that Senator Obama was prepared to fund through federal legislation and a mandatory tax on American GDP, whether we liked it or not.

That bill never got out of committee but the effort has not ceased. Groups like ONE continue to attract politicians who want to be seen as or associated with “ending poverty,” and working “with them” to develop goals (legislation) that will eventually tax gross national income and divert that wealth into the UN’s social justice initiatives. It’s ONE of their goals.

And US politicians continue to propose bills to that end. In 2009 US House Rep Adam Smith D-WA took up Obama’s spear of redistribution and sponsored HR 2639, The Global Poverty Act of 2009, for the purpose of “promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goal…”

I’m sure there’s a 2010 version brewing somewhere as well. And I know Obama has not stopped wanting it. But to facilitate the smoke screen groups like ONE campaign, in conjunction with organizations like GCAP and others, have to work on the political will, cloaked with high profile celebrity endorsements, focusing on poverty, without revealing the contradictions. And Republicans fall for it. But their agenda is more than it appears to be. And they have no problem hiding behind world hunger to advance their socialist redistributive solutions.

Conservatives understand that the only thing that lifts people out of poverty is a stable government committed to rule of law, the right to own property, the right to self defense, free markets and open trade, and some form of representative government. These are things we should support and strive for. But the UN MDG does none of these things, nor do they or the associated groups (Like ONE) seem to desire them. And why would they. The despots and dictators who crowd around the UN feeder only want money from rich nations, not the rules we used to get rich. They want to balance out wealth and resources through social justice programs, courtesy of taxing or guilting the US and other rich nations to part with it. But without fundamental rights, protected by rule of law, no amount of money will solve these problems.

So if you were at that ONE event, you might want to start working on your plausible deniability. ONE seeks to assist the UN who seek to divert wealth (Social Justice), institute global environmental regulations through the control of CO2 emissions, collect fines for offsetting so-called environmental destruction caused by rich countries (environmental justice), as well implementing every UN world treaty including the rights of the child, rights to development, UN education mandates, international human rights laws, and even a global ban on hand guns.

And you thought you were just shining up your “feed the hungry” creds by showing up at the ONE confab? Talk about a blind date gone bad.

ONE campaign is a poison pill for conservatives and small government republicans, and they’d do well to keep their distance in the future.

Further, they discussed what to do with 250 million people who still might believe in capitalism after the socialists took over.

Remember this man Ayers is now teaching our teachers.

Well, according to her, there is a huge news blackout on the border war. Yes I think we can call it a war when foreign nationals are taking over private homes and property under threat of harm.

According to the MinuteMen, a group of citizens that patrol the southern US border, as we speak, various U.S. territories are being taken by Mexican combatants.

The bloodbath continues along our southern border and now word is coming in that Los Zetas, the highly trained killers formerly with the Gulf Cartel, have crossed into the United States and taken over at least two ranches in the Laredo, Texas area. I am receiving word that the owners of the ranches have evacuated without being harmed. As of this hour I cannot confirm 100% on the situation (I am at around 90%) – though the source is law enforcement in the area.

The ranches are said to be “near Mines Rd. and Minerales Rd. about 10 miles NW of I-35.”

Whether it is lone members or squads is not certain.

Anonymous sources in law enforcement in the Laredo area tonight have passed on word that US law enforcement agencies are in the area and are weighing their options regarding the ranches. The media has been silent on this incident and some law enforcement in the area says that they are furious that the media is not reporting the whole story of the continued violence along the border. Their frustrations are understandable because keeping the truth suppressed continues to hamper law enforcement from receiving the true support they need along the border.

The ranch assaults come on the heals of attacks in Nuevo Laredo that shut the city down as a gun-battle raged in the streets. Los Zetas blocked off intersections with vehicles and used fragmentation grenades to attack Mexican law enforcement. In the end 12 were killed and 21 injured in the assaults. Citizens in the area were told to stay in their homes and bullets whizzed all around.

Cypress Times – The U.S. Consulate in Nuevo Laredo had posted warnings on its website hours before the gunfire was reported by Texas citizens, “We have received credible reports of widespread violence occurring now between narcotics-trafficking organizations and the Mexican army in Nuevo Laredo.”

The U.S. Consulate went on to say, “The consulate confirmed that fragmentation grenades were used in the attacks and that suspected drug-gang members had blocked several roads, adding that it advised ‘all U.S. citizens in Nuevo Laredo to remain indoors until the security situation improves.’”

US Citizens in Laredo called 911 after hearing gunfire and explosions just across the border. Laredo police spokesman Joe Baeza deflected the concerns of citizens with what I see as utter contempt. He said there was no spillover violence onto the US side and “We were getting reports from people who live on the river’s edge that they could hear gunfire and explosions from the Mexico side,” Baeza said, “We didn’t have any incidents on the American side. It’s hard for people to understand who don’t live here … They’re not Vikings, they’re not going to invade us, it doesn’t work that way.”

This was said just a day before the reported breaking news on the ranches being taken above.

Violence has been on the rise along the border. In April 2010 a Border Patrol agent in Laredo shot and killed an lllegal alien drug smuggler near the Rio Grande.

The Los Zetas are highly trained killers initially trained by United States Special Operations forces to combat the drug cartes within Mexico. As the drug war heated up the Zetas saw more money in working for the cartels and joined up with the Gulf Cartel.

In March, 2010 there was a fracture between the Los Zetas and the Gulf Cartel when a Zetas leader was said to have been assassinated by the Gulf Cartel. They demanded that the killer be turned over to them. When the Gulf Cartel refused the Zetas captured 16 Gulf Cartel members.

Since March Los Zetas abandoned their stronghold in Reynosa and moved to Nuevo Laredo, just across from the border with Laredo, Texas. There are estimated to be over 1,000 Zeta members there.

It is reported up to 36 States have Arizona type laws on the drawing board and are waiting for the right moment to start the process of enforcement.

Drastic change in works to revamp whole Electoral College

Democrats have found yet another way to circumvent the U.S. Constitution: Bypass the Electoral College and elect a president by popular vote without first passing an amendment to the founding document, Jerome Corsi’s Red Alert reports.

The Massachusetts Senate has joined five other states in passing a National Popular Vote bill to do just that. It approved the legislation July 15 by a margin of 28-10.

Leftist propaganda has itself convinced that ACORN tapes are ‘faked’ and Black Panthers calling on their members to kill white babies didn’t happen. Witness the recent myth being promoted that it was FOX who caused Shirely Sherrod’s resignation, when FOX had not yet uttered her name and when Glenn Beck actually sided with her. We can’t imagine how Beck could have sided with someone who had obviously practiced institutional racism and in this day and age, was receiving praise for it from the NAACP!

Back to the issue of socialism and the art of diverting the real issue or assigning meanings to things that make no sense, we are hereby posting the list of bona fide members of the Democratic Socialists of America. If parents want to know why their children are being brainwashed, and not being taught skills they can use, and coming home with other political nonsense, we can sum it up in two words: William Ayers.

The poisoning of our educational system has been going on since 1948 or before. This writer has been reviewing an out of print book, written in 1953 that tells us where the bodies are buried; how the socialists implemented their plan for America using the educational system. Stated goals are the destruction of the family, the ‘emancipation’ of women (put in quotes because it was basically to relieve women of their authority over their children so that the state could take over that part of the job of childrearing) and the bankrupting of the nation so that social totalitarianism could be installed under one world.

Effective January 1, 2012, the national healthcare legislation passed by Congress contains tax provisions that will require gun dealers to report to the IRS their purchases of guns and any other goods valued over $600. This reporting will be required for purchases from either individuals or corporations. The new IRS provisions apply to all goods and services. IRS 1099 forms will have to be filed, reporting the purchase by the gun dealer. (This same IRS issue exists for gold and silver bullion dealers, coin dealers, knife dealers, car dealers or any other business that buys goods from a person.)

It applies to all businesses who buy from “persons.” If you sell your gun for over $600 to an FFL, the FFL must send in a 1099 on you which reports the sale by you to the IRS. It is not simply a “business to business” reporting requirement. (Which, even if it was, would still be bad for business.)

Sec. 6041 says:

“All persons engaged in a trade or business and making payment in the course of such trade or business to another person, of rent, salaries, wages, premiums, annuities, compensations, remunerations, emoluments, or other fixed or determinable gains, profits, and income (other than payments to which section 6042(a)(1), 6044(a)(1), 6047(e), 6049(a), or 6050N(a) applies, and other than payments with respect to which a statement is required under the authority of section 6042(a)(2), 6044(a)(2), or 6045), or $600 or more in any taxable year” (Emphasis added)

This has the effect of creating a system of gun “sales to dealer” registration, controlled by the IRS. It also creates mountains of more paperwork for dealers who are already burdened with filling out 4473’s, A&D (Acquisition and Disposition) Bound Books, receipts, and all the other paperwork associated with gun business. Even purchases made at gun shows or at people’s homes by gun dealers will have to be reported. The current Form 1099 requires the buyer to state for what purpose the payment was made. (See: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1099msc.pdf and note blocks 1-14 of the 1099 form.) Who knows how the IRS will rewrite the new form and what more information will be demanded?

It is true that gun dealers already have to keep A&D books that require very specific information. However, the information is not centrally databased by the IRS. This new law creates a list of private gun sellers with the IRS. Also, FFL’s who fail to file 1099’s on folks who sold them guns and were paid over $600 may be caught during their license inspections by way of their A&D books. This will cause trouble for the gun dealer and tax trouble for the private seller.

Modern sport/utility (AR-15 type) rifles sell for over $600 even at used wholesale prices. Your quality tactical or custom handguns easily sell for over $600, and finding shotguns worth over $600 is not hard at all. $600 in ammunition is not a lot at today’s prices. Even if the dealer buys a pile of clunkers but pays out over $600 to any person, the report to the IRS must be made. Ammunition, knives, parts, reloading equipment, accessories, or any other goods valued over $600 must be reported to the IRS. The bottom line is, sell your gun or other goods to a dealer for over $600 and it must be reported to the IRS by the dealer.

Rep. Dan Lungren has introduced a bill (H.R. 5141) to repeal this section.

Section 9006 of the bill amends Section 6041 of the Internal Revenue Code in the following way:

SEC. 9006. EXPANSION OF INFORMATION REPORTING REQUIREMENTS.

(a) IN GENERAL.-Section 6041 of the Internal Revenue Code

of 1986 is amended by adding at the end the following new subsections:

‘‘(h) APPLICATION TO CORPORATIONS.-Notwithstanding any regulation prescribed by the Secretary before the date of the enactment of this subsection, for purposes of this section the term ‘person’ includes any corporation that is not an organization exempt from tax under section 501(a).

‘‘(i) REGULATIONS.-The Secretary may prescribe such regulations and other guidance as may be appropriate or necessary to carry out the purposes of this section, including rules to prevent duplicative reporting of transactions.”.

(b) PAYMENTS FOR PROPERTY AND OTHER GROSS PROCEEDS.-

Subsection (a) of section 6041 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended-

(1) by inserting ‘‘amounts in consideration for property,” after ‘‘wages,”,

(2) by inserting ‘‘gross proceeds,” after ‘‘emoluments, or other”, and

(3) by inserting ‘‘gross proceeds,” after ‘‘setting forth the amount of such”.

(c) EFFECTIVE DATE.-The amendments made by this section shall apply to payments made after December 31, 2011.

Sec. 6041.

(a) Payments of $600 or more

All persons engaged in a trade or business and making payment in the course of such trade or business to another person, of rent, salaries, wages, premiums, annuities, compensations, remunerations, emoluments, or other fixed or determinable gains, profits, and income (other than payments to which section 6042(a)(1), 6044(a)(1), 6047(e), 6049(a), or 6050N(a) applies, and other than payments with respect to which a statement is required under the authority of section 6042(a)(2), 6044(a)(2), or 6045), or $600 or more in any taxable year, or, in the case of such payments made by the United States, the officers or employees of the United Stateshaving information as to such payments and required to make returns in regard thereto by the regulations hereinafter provided for, shall render a true and accurate return to the Secretary, under such regulations and in such form and manner and to such extent as may be prescribed by the Secretary, setting forth the amount of such gains, profits, and income, and the name and address of the recipient of such payment.

Senator Chuck Schumer has introduced a revised version and used Senate rules to bypass committee and go straight to the floor, meaning this so-called “transparency” bill will have as little transparency as Senate leaders can get away with.

The statists would love nothing more than to silence the grassroots groups such as the tea party and like-minded organizations by going after our donors for opposing their agenda.

Harry Reid is doing everything he can to railroad the opposition. Let’s show him the freedom movement will never back down.

As the Obama administration moves to nationalize public education, Governor Lynch has been involved with the Northeast Consortium and the National Governors Association in planning what will happen with the centralization of the system in NH. Note that one of their ‘advisors’, Marc Tucker, has been recommending the disbanding of local school boards and thus, would move our system away from being locally-based.

The New Hampshire Department of Education under Governor Lynch recently announced that the New Hampshire Board of Education voted to adopt the Common Core Standards in math and English. As the United States moves towards a more centralized education system, in this article (PRI • Pacific Research Institute • What Canada can teach the U.S. about education) the authors explain why Canadian students are outperforming the U.S. students: a decentralized education system.

While U.S. students continue to struggle when compared to their international peers, our neighbors to the north figured out the keys to success. According to the article, ” While the United States has seen decades of increasing federal intervention and control of education policy, the federal government in Canada has essentially no role in K-12 education.”

Under the Obama Administration, the U.S. Department of Education has begun the process of nationalizing education. Recently they released the “Common or National standards” in English and math. In order to qualify for federal funding (Race to the Top funds) states are passing legislation and adopting National standards. In other words, the schools and state departments of education are answering to the Federal Government instead of the parents and the local communities.

The Canadian system of education shows that decentralizing government in the role of education allows their schools to compete and succeed. Not only are they succeeding, they are spending less money per student when compared to the U.S.

While some Governors have rejected the Federal Government’s infringement on education in their state, Governor Lynch’s Department of Education embraces it. Canada shows the U.S. how to improve the quality of education, however New Hampshire has opted to move in the opposite direction.

The National Standards New Hampshire recently adopted are an improvement over what the New Hampshire Department of Education set for students. However, what prevented the Department of Education under Governor Lynch to improve the state standards we had in place? Other State Departments of Education worked and provided their students quality academic standards. Why did the Department of Education under Governor Lynch fail to make this a priority? These are the questions I think are questions to consider as we move toward the November elections.

Instead of working to improve the quality of our own standards, we’ve shifted power to the National level further eroding local control. New Hampshire could have offered students quality academic standards and maintained what little local control is left. Unfortunately that was not a priority for the Lynch administration and we will now have to relinquish more power to the Federal Government when it comes to decisions our local community should be making.
